Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Burgess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tom Muniz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tom Muniz has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.

Burgess clinches up against the cage.

Burgess pulls Muniz into guard.
Muniz's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Muniz prevents Burgess from getting back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Burgess throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Burgess is looking for a triangle here but Muniz uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Burgess wants to control but Muniz postures up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Burgess tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Muniz has control of an arm but Burgess manages to advance to Muniz's back!

Burgess is not going to allow Muniz to sit and survive in this position.
Burgess keeps control of the position as Muniz tries to break free.
Burgess really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Muniz looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
Burgess has good solid back control here.
Muniz covering up well and avoiding damage.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Muniz has eaten all the pies!
Muniz just trying to survive but Burgess is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
Muniz covering up well under a series of strikes from Burgess.
Burgess will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Muniz trying to control the action but Burgess just sinks the hooks in.
Muniz might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Burgess haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Burgess missing with strikes from the back.
Muniz tries to roll but Burgess sticks to his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Muniz defends a prolonged rear naked choke attempt and turns nicely into his opponent's guard.
Muniz pushes down on Burgess's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Muniz keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Burgess looks like he's trying to stand up.
Burgess has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Muniz is working away from the top position though.

Burgess is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Muniz dives into side control.

Burgess is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Tom Muniz has got the better of the ground game so far.
Burgess is trying to get to the cage to help him get back to his feet.
Muniz controlling the pace for now.

Burgess is trying to stand up.

Tom Muniz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Muniz tries to sprawl but Burgess drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Burgess throws a strike but Muniz avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Burgess drops back, looking for a kneebar! Muniz looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Muniz looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Muniz!

More stalling from Muniz.
Burgess is trying to escape the mount.
Muniz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Burgess is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Muniz takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Muniz sitting in mount, just looking to control for the moment.

Muniz tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Muniz with more of the same as he continues to hold on.
Burgess tries to lock up and control but Muniz gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Tom Muniz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Muniz has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
