Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Keven Mathis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hassan Fezzik (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, George Francis and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mathis keeps the fight on the outside.
Fezzik throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mathis.
It looks like Keven Mathis has been cut.
Fezzik scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Mathis manages to get back to half guard.
Mathis regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mathis is on top in guard.

Mathis is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Mathis had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Fezzik defends it easily.
Mathis has his foot on Fezzik's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Fezzik works his way back into a safe position though.

Mathis escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Fezzik gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Fezzik feints and as Mathis raises his hands in defense, Fezzik changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Fezzik moves in looking to clinch but Mathis pushes him off.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

It looked like Mathis wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Mathis closes the distance and clinches up with Fezzik, looking for a takedown. Mathis pushes Fezzik against the cage but Fezzik circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Fezzik changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mathis looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mathis explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Mathis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Fezzik to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

That was a close second round but I would say that Keven Mathis will probably get the nod.

Mathis is staying calm and holding on to the back position, whilst working on a rear naked choke. Fezzik is defending well though. Mathis let's go of the attempt for now.
Mathis has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Fezzik has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Mathis, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
