The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dickson looks for a takedown but Lasner sprawls well.

Lasner looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Dickson!
Dickson sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Lasner tries to pass to full mount but Dickson defends it.

Dickson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Lasner is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Dickson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Lasner's back instead.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Dickson has the hooks in. Lasner is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.

Dickson has the rear naked choke here! This is very bad for Lasner! Can he survive? No! He's out! Dickson gets to his feet and celebrates with his cornermen. He looks absolutely delighted. In the post fight interviews he takes time to thank his parents and everyone who has believed in him from the start. How sweet.
