Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Isaac Blackwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sand Peters (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sand Peters has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Isaac Blackwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sand Peters!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Chad Campbell and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Peters fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Blackwell, pushing him back against the cage.
Blackwell avoids a wild elbow strike from Peters.
Blackwell is looking for a takedown.
Blackwell jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Peters walks away with a smile on his face. Blackwell gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Peters rushes Blackwell and presses him up against the cage.
Blackwell wants to get back to striking at distance but Peters won't allow it.
Blackwell misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Peters.
Blackwell jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Peters walks away with a smile on his face. Blackwell gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Isaac Blackwell. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Peters blocks the body kick.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Peters is defended easily by Blackwell.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Peters clinches.

Peters drops down looking for an ankle pick but Blackwell pulls his leg out and moves away.
Peters throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Blackwell's waist but Blackwell gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Peters off to one side.

Blackwell closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Peters did well to prevent Blackwell getting side control.

Peters has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Blackwell is on him like a limpet, forcing Peters back against the cage.

Blackwell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Peters gets a clinch.
Blackwell tries to score a body lock takedown but Peters shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Peters takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Blackwell prevents the takedown attempt.

Blackwell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Blackwell stuffs the takedown.
Blackwell is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Peters moves into the clinch.
Blackwell wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Peters tries to break the clinch but Blackwell is controlling the position.
Blackwell really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Blackwell changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Peters fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Peters looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Peters has Blackwell pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Blackwell manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Blackwell breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Peters dives in for a single leg takedown but Blackwell sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Blackwell is looking to counter the offense by Peters and move into the clinch.

Peters moves into the clinch successfully.

Blackwell breaks from the clinch.
Peters closes the distance and clinches up with Blackwell, looking for a takedown. Peters pushes Blackwell against the cage but Blackwell circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Peters shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Blackwell pinned against the cage. Blackwell gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Blackwell is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Peters.

Peters jumps guard and drags Blackwell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Peters seems keen to control Blackwell's posture.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Peters tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Blackwell swivels and escapes.
Blackwell shoots in looking for a takedown. Peters tries to sprawl out of it but Blackwell keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Peters manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Peters now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Peters tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Blackwell defends well and Peters ends up having to push Blackwell into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Blackwell stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Blackwell wants it to stay on the feet.

Peters looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Blackwell is fending him off so far but Peters persists. Nope, Blackwell circles away and we're back to standing.

Sand Peters seems to be working more effectively in the clinch in the fight so far.

Peters throws a hook to the body. More of an arm punch but it's all scoring with the judges.
Peters drops down looking for an ankle pick but Blackwell pulls his leg out and moves away.

Peters throws a sloppy head kick and Blackwell moves out of range easily.

Peters shoots for a takedown but Blackwell saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Peters scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Blackwell doesn't seem bothered though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Isaac Blackwell will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Blackwell with a flurry of punches that miss.
Peters pulls Blackwell in close to prevent any damage.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Peters had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Blackwell defends it easily.
Blackwell knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Peters on the ground.

Blackwell in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Peters looking to hit a scissor sweep but Blackwell is one step ahead there.

Peters is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Peters holds on and takes a little breather.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Blackwell postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Peters gets a clinch.

Blackwell escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Blackwell shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Blackwell tries to clinch up but Peters circles away and keeps his distance.
Peters shoots in and drives through. Blackwell sprawls well.
Blackwell seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Peters gets a clinch.
Blackwell tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Peters just stands there and leans against the cage.

Sand Peters seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
