Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gigante Pesado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Root Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gigante Pesado has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Gigante Pesado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Root Paul!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, David Hoff and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pesado gets tackled into the cage by Paul. Paul maintains the clinch.
Paul looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Pesado escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pesado definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Paul feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Pesados jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
It looks like Gigante Pesado has been cut.
Paul misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Pesado throws a big counter combination but Paul scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Pesado avoids a punch combination nicely.
Pesado clinches.
Paul lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Paul lands a hook that snaps the head of Pesado backwards.

Pesado tries to pull guard but Paul holds him up against the cage and eventually Pesado drops back down to his feet.
Paul tries to break the clinch but Pesado is controlling the position.

Paul takes an elbow to the forehead.
It looks like Root Paul has been cut.

Pesado turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Pesado manages to end up in side control.
Paul is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Paul is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Pesado is looking to take a break and control but Paul is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Paul really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Pesado. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Paul manages to get back to half guard.

Pesado seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Paul does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Pesado decides to stand up.
Pesado shoots in looking for a takedown. Paul tries to sprawl out of it but Pesado keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Paul manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Paul fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Pesado is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Paul.
Root Paul is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Paul rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Pesado moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Pesado takes the fight into the clinch.
Pesado misses with an elbow strike.
Pesado has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Paul avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Gigante Pesado. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Paul works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
Pesado pushes Paul off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Paul scores with a sloppy right hand. Pesado should have avoided that one.

and Paul holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Pesado stalling in the clinch but Paul improves position.
Pesado is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Paul is defending well for now.

Paul's jab looks to have found its range, popping Pesado under the eye.
Pesado walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Pesado tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Paul rushes Pesado and presses him up against the cage.
Paul lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Root Paul dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Paul tries to bum rush Pesado with a series of wild strikes but Pesado uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Paul has taken the fight to the clinch.
Pesado can't get the takedown.
Paul scores with a shoulder strike.
Paul lands with a light punch inside.
Paul looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Paul has Pesado pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Paul pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Pesado tumbling to the mat - Paul dives into Pesado's guard.
Paul content to stall in guard here.
Paul postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Pesado might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pesado not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Paul is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Paul tries to free his leg and advance position but Pesado is retaining full guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Pesado holds on and takes a little breather.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Paul drives through and clinches with Pesado against the cage.
Paul breaks the clinch.
Paul scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.

Paul stuffs the takedown attempt from Pesado. Pesado gets slowly back to his feet.
Pesado takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Paul has cracked Pesado with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Paul lands another huge swinging hook and Pesado tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Pesado, before Paul can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Root Paul!
Root Paul took some time post fight to say the following; 'These guys can't handle the pressure... Vote Root Paul'.
