PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Olaf Gustafson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alfed Arkes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arkes has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gustafson connects with a looping right hand.
Gustafson missing with a left hand there. Arkes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Gustafson throws an overhand right that lands on Arkes's shoulder, as Arkes tries to avoid the shot.
Gustafson misses with a wild combination.
Arkes tries to counter by closing the distance.
Arkes slips a straight right by Gustafson.
The fighters circling - Gustafson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Gustafson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Arkes looks winded!

Gustafson scores with a nice right hand.
Gustafson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Arkes slips a jab and a cross from Gustafson.
Alfed Arkes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Arkes shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Gustafson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Gustafson lands a head shot.
Gustafson fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Arkes gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Gustafson.

Arkes is rocked!
Gustafson missing with a left hand there. Arkes was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Arkes is still on wobbly legs! Can Gustafson finish him?
Arkes throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Arkes takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Gustafson throws a hook to the side of Arkes's head but Arkes sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Arkes slips under a jab from Gustafson.
Gustafson sets himself, and Arkes steps forward looking for the clinch! Gustafson avoids it this time.
Arkes walks into a left hand.
The crowd cheers as Gustafson lands an impressive looking overhand right. Arkes doesn't seem phased though.
Gustafson is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Arkes gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Gustafson gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Arkes is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
