Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jed Adams (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ashfan Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jed Adams has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jed Adams!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ashfan Ali!
The judges for this bout are , Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ali digs a good body shot into Adams's ribs.

Ali closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Adams tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Ali manages to move to mount!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Adams is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

BOOM! Ali connects with a massive shot to the dome!

It looks like Ali might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Adams is looking to improve his position but Ali isn't that keen on the idea.

The referee warns Adams that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Ali can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Adams is looking to escape.
Adams tries to lock up and control but Ali gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Ali tries to pass to full mount but Adams defends it.

Adams makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Adams.
Ali passes Adams's left leg - he's now in half guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Ali tries to close the distance and clinch up but Adams swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Ali shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Adams wants to get back to full guard.
Adams is working hard here to advance position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ali is taking a breather. Adams says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Adams is pressing down on Ali's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Ali must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Adams wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Ali wants to control from the top but Adams keeps moving.
Ali is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Ali shoots in and bounces Adams off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Ali postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Adams pulls Ali in close to prevent any damage.
Ali content to stall in guard here.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Ali looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Adams!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
You can see the frustration on Adams's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Ali stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Ali dodges the punch combination from Adams.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Adams throws a series of punches but Ali avoids them all with ease.
Adams misses the jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ashfan Ali showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Ali wants to clinch.
Adams shoots in and drives through. Ali sprawls well.
Ali wants to clinch.

Ali manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Adams on his heels. He'll look to pass Adams's guard now, I'm sure.

Adams keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Ali's head.
Adams is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Ali wants to sweep here but Adams controlling him for the moment.

Ali scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Ali shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Adams is trying to defend but Ali finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Ali takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Adams is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Ali has gone for a leg lock! Adams slips out almost immediately though and dives into Ali's guard.

Adams would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Ali avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Adams missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Ali wants to sweep here but Adams controlling him for the moment.

Ali is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Adams drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Ali manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Adams has Ali in his guard.

Ashfan Ali is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I've got Ali winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
