Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Marios Kaperoinis!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Yuuki Gou and Shigeki Sano.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Oneill stuffs the takedown attempt from Kaperoinis. Kaperoinis gets slowly back to his feet.
Oneill tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Kaperoinis manages to circle out of the way.
Kaperoinis connects nicely with a jab. Noted by the judges no doubt.

Oneill rushes Kaperoinis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Kaperoinis drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Kaperoinis lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Oneill pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Oneill slips a jab and a cross from Kaperoinis.
Oneill misses with a head kick.
And Kaperoinis tries to counter it with a takedown but Oneill pushes his down on his head and steps out.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Oneill has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kaperoinis uses from the top position.
Kaperoinis wants to stand and escape but instead Oneill has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Oneill will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Still in half guard, Oneill seems content to control.
Oneill working over Kaperoinis with some ground and pound. Kaperoinis looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.

Oneill seems to be working for a kimura but Kaperoinis defends the submission attempt.

Kaperoinis has hold of Oneill's hands but Oneill slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Oneill is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Ground and pound from Oneill.

Oneill is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Kaperoinis wants to control but Oneill is keeping busy and won't allow it.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Kaperoinis can do anything to dispel that myth.

Oneill landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Oneill is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Oneill is thwarting Kaperoinis's attempts to control the position.
Oneill is nestled in close to Kaperoinis, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Oneill looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Kaperoinis with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Kaperoinis looks winded!
Oneill content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oneill manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Oneill is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Oneill has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Oneill bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Kaperoinis's guard.

Kaperoinis has an active guard here but Oneill has managed to pass into half guard.
Kaperoinis is breathing heavily.
Oneill with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Kaperoinis pushes Oneill off, looking to escape but Oneill dives into side control. He's locked up a kimura now - that was fast! He's cranking on it and Kaperoinis is forced to tap! The fight is over!
