The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thompson showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Cabal.
Thompson circles away from the clinch attempt.
Cabal will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Thompson fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Thompson shoots for a takedown but Cabal saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Cabal tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Thompson paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Cabal changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Thompson looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Thompson tries to buck Cabal off but Cabal is having none of it.
Thompson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cabal off and has taken his back!
Thompson is not going to allow Cabal to sit and survive in this position.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Cabal tries to escape but Thompson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Cabal is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Thompson gets his way!
