The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nicitel lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!

It looks like Fudge Jr has been cut.

Jr throws Nicitel to one side and escapes!

Jr goes for a double leg but Nicitel avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Nicitel continues to drive forward.
Andrej Nicitel seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jr wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Nicitel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Nicitel showed some decent athleticism there.
Jr is looking to get back to is feet but Nicitel passes into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jr is looking to regain half guard here but Nicitel keeps moving and retains side control.

Jr takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.

Jr pushes Nicitel away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Nicitel gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Jr tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Jr takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Nicitel takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Nicitel working over Jr with some ground and pound. Jr looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Nicitel is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Jr defends it well.

Nicitel drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Nicitel jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Jr wants to sweep here but Nicitel controlling him for the moment.
Nicitel has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Fudge Jr will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Fudge Jr's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jr looks for the body kick but Nicitel saw that one coming.
Nicitel shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jr ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
That kick from Nicitel tenderised Jr's leg. Jr is trying to keep his angry face on.
Nicitel doesn't manage to clinch there - Jr circles away.
Fudge Jr seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Jr closes the distance and clinches.
Nicitel tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jr avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nicitel breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
A head kick misses from Nicitel.
Nicitel tries to close the distance and clinch but Jr swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jr lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Nicitel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Jr as he avoids it easily.

Jr tries to bum rush Nicitel with a series of wild strikes but Nicitel uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Nicitel fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Jr unleashes a big counter combination but Nicitel bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrej Nicitel. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Jr drives through and clinches with Nicitel against the cage.

Nicitel manages to break the clinch.
Nicitel tries to score a power double leg takedown but Jr sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Nicitel somewhat.
Andrej Nicitel is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Jr lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
Nicitel doesn't manage to clinch there - Jr circles away.

Nicitel tried to score with a low kick but Jr checks it.
Jr is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Nicitel with a body shot.
Nicitel has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Jr misses with a double jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Jr lands with a nice combination. Nicitel backs away looking to recover.

Nicitel is rocked!
Jr connects with a jab and follows up with a big overhand right! Oh that's hurt Nicitel! He's out on his feet! Jr rushes in and drops Nicitel with another big right hand, forcing the referee to stop the fight!
