The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Konstantin Menshow and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sweeney leaves Koji with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Koji lands a leg kick that knocks Sweeney off balance momentarily.
Mykal Koji seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Koji.
Koji misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

As Sweeney backs away, Koji returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Sweeney is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sweeney is taking a breather. Koji says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

That was a close round but I would say that Mykal Koji will probably get the nod.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
