Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rex Lewis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roger Wilson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rex Lewis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roger Wilson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Jonathan Paton and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wilson shoots in looking for a takedown. Lewis tries to sprawl out of it but Wilson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Lewis manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Lewis really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lewis jumps into guard, dragging Wilson to the mat.
Wilson trying to control the position from guard on top but Lewis is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Lewis is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Wilson defends well.
Wilson trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Lewis pulls Wilson in to control the position.
Wilson stands up over Lewis, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Wilson tries to stand but Lewis is controlling from the bottom.

Lewis is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Lewis looking for a guillotine here but Wilson defends easily.

Lewis has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Wilson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Wilson has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lewis is proving hard to escape from.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Lewis controlling the position.
Wilson postures up.
Wilson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

Wilson stands up and waves to Lewis to follow him.

Wilson closes the distance and clinches.
A frustrated look appears on Wilson's face as he tries to break the clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Lewis letting Wilson take a breather here.
Wilson tries to break free but Lewis pushes him back against the cage.
Wilson is trying to maintain a safe position but Lewis gets an underhook and turns Wilson into the cage.

Wilson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Wilson throws a low kick, looking for Lewis's leg but Lewis calmly moves out of range.

Wilson tries to keep at a distance but Lewis has taken the fight into the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Lewis.
Wilson on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.
Wilson is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Lewis to keep the fight standing.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lewis breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

and Lewis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Rex Lewis has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Roger Wilson.

Lewis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Lewis has closed the distance and engaged Wilson in a clinch.
Wilson lands a nice shot to the body.

Lewis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Lewis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

Wilson has managed to clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wilson tries to pull guard but Lewis forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Rex Lewis will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Wilson misses with a body kick.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Lewis.

and Lewis holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Wilson breaks from the clinch.
Lewis avoids the body shot from Wilson.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lewis fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Wilson, pushing him back against the cage.
Wilson keeps control of Lewis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Wilson tries to pull guard but Lewis holds him up against the cage and eventually Wilson drops back down to his feet.

Lewis pulls guard effortlessly.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Wilson controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Wilson wants to get up but he can't break Lewis's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Lewis is trying to push Wilson off with his feet but Wilson grabs hold of one of the legs and drops back looking for a submission! He's cranking on one of Lewis's ankles and Lewis is forced to tap! This one is aaaaaaall over!
