Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John Rice (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Rice!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jack Allen!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, George Francis and Gwen Towbar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Allen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Allen tries to close the distance and clinch but Rice swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Rice misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Rice moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Rice throws a series of punches but Allen avoids them all with ease.
Some wild striking there from Allen.
Rice tries a head kick but it misses.

Allen rushes Rice and presses him up against the cage.
Allen pressing his opponent against the cage.

Rice breaks from the clinch.
Rice misses with a leg kick.
Allen blocks a head kick by Rice.
Rice shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.
Rice plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
The fight stays on the outside here - Allen looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rice fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Allen darts in and clinches Rice up against the cage.
Allen throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Rice blocks it with crossed arms.
Allen scores a nice knee to the body.

Allen breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Allen misses with a combination
and Rice counters with a head kick. That will keep Allen thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
John Rice is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Rice throws a leg kick which misses Allen's front leg but catches the back leg as Allen tries to avoid it.
A head kick misses from Rice.
Rice looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Allen closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Rice to the mat! Rice manages to get full guard.
Rice is looking to stand up but Allen isn't so interested in that idea.
Rice is breathing heavily.

Rice has an active guard here but Allen has managed to pass into half guard.
Allen controlling the pace.
Rice is looking to escape.

Allen controlling the pace.

Allen decides to stand up.
Nice cross by Allen.
Allen doesn't manage to clinch there - Rice circles away.
A combination from Rice does no damage.
The crowd cheers as Rice lands an impressive looking overhand right. Allen doesn't seem phased though.
Allen will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A head kick from Rice lands but Allen takes it in his stride.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
An inside leg kick from Rice misses.
Rice swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rice throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Allen.
Rice throws and low kick but Allen moves out of range easily.
Allen is looking to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rice pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Allen rushes Rice and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Rice blocks an elbow strike.
Rice is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Allen wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Allen is trying to break the clinch but Rice has him pressed against the cage.
Allen misses with a knee to the head.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Allen just misses with a elbow thrown towards Rice's brow.
Rice lands with a right to the head.
Rice is looking to control Allen's arms but Allen gets an underhook and turns him. Now Rice has his back to the cage.
Allen tries to land knees in the clinch but Rice avoids the damage to the body.
Rice wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Allen has him pressed against the cage.
Rice missing with knees to the body.
Rice trying to stall but Allen improves his position.
Allen blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Allen throws a knee to the head but misses.
Rice has had enough of the clinch but Allen keeps him there for the moment.
Rice tries to work over Allen's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Rice wants to break free but Allen has control.
Allen scores with a hook to the body.

Allen turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Rice is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Rice is letting Allen control him for a moment.

Allen stands up.
John Rice seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Rice ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
A head kick misses from Rice.

Allen fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Rice, pushing him back against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Allen misses with a knee to the head.
Rice wants to get back to striking at distance but Allen won't allow it.
Rice lands a body punch.

Rice breaks the clinch.
Allen pulls out of a head kick attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jack Allen will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Rice misses with a few strikes there.
Rice throws a wild body kick that Allen sees coming a mile off.
Rice looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Rice ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
John Rice is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Rice throws a leg kick which misses Allen's front leg but catches the back leg as Allen tries to avoid it.
Allen misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Allen tries to clinch but Rice is having none of it.
Rice plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
A left and a right from Rice both land. Nice combination.
Rice pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Rice lands a head kick!
Rice throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Rice throws a nice looking combination but Allen bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Rice looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.

Allen clinches up with Rice and pushes him back against the cage.

Rice lands a nice elbow from the clinch.
Rice can't break the clinch.
Rice wants to break free but Allen has control.

Allen jumps guard and drags Rice to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Rice throws a strike but Allen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.
Allen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Rice looking for subs off his back but Allen has passed one foot through into half guard.
Allen moves into full mount! Rice won't be happy about that!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rice is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Allen looking to control and managing it successfully.
You get the feeling that Rice really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Allen takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Rice's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Allen controlling the pace for now.
Allen won't let Rice get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Allen controlling his opponent.
Rice is looking to improve his position but Allen isn't that keen on the idea.
Allen looking to control and managing it successfully.
Rice is trying to stand up.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Rice dominated that second round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Rice misses with a body kick.
Rice throws a right hand that Allen ducks under and follows up with a left that Allen also avoids with ease.
Allen looks to land a left hand but Rice moved out of range nicely.
Rice falls off balance throwing a combination

and Allen counters by moving into the clinch.
Rice dodges an elbow strike from Allen.

Rice breaks from the clinch.
Rice looks to throw a body kick

and Allen decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Rice's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Allen gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Allen throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Rice.
Allen doesn't manage to clinch there - Rice circles away.
Rice pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Rice gets caught flat footed, as Allen shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Allen prevents Rice from getting back to his feet.
Rice is looking to stand back up but Allen counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Rice.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Allen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Allen's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Rice is trying to stand.
Allen is controlling the pace.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Rice is refusing to be controlled, as Allen sits in half guard.
Allen blocks the strikes from Rice.
Allen is keen to just control but Rice is a slippery customer.

Rice is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Allen pulls his head out easily.
Rice pushes Allen off looking to stand but Allen dives back in and keeps control.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Allen avoids a punch combination nicely.
Allen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rice paws at him with a jab and circles away.
No joy there for Allen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Rice scores with a push kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Allen throws a head kick but Rice moves out of range.
Rice throws a head kick that misses.
Rice misses with the body kick

and Allen counters with a single leg into guard. Rice didn't expect that.

Allen stands up from guard. Let's bang!
Allen tries to close the distance and clinch up but Rice swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Rice tries to keep at a distance but Allen has taken the fight into the clinch.
Allen looking to throw knees to the head but Rice is blocking nicely.
Rice looking to stall.
Allen struggles to land a body shot inside as Rice controls his hands.
Rice stalling in the clinch but Allen improves position.
Allen trying to land knees to the body.
Allen has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Rice avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Rice is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Rice dodges an elbow strike from Allen.
Rice slowing the pace effectively.

Allen manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Rice throws a strike but Allen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rice wants to get back to his feet but Allen is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Allen not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Allen decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Rice lands a jab to the head.
Rice lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Allen looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jack Allen comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Allen has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
