PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Seth Coleman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lance Heras (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Seth Coleman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lance Heras!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Shirou Masuda.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Heras darts in and clinches Coleman up against the ropes.
Heras avoiding damage.

Coleman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Coleman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fighters are working up against the ropes. Coleman manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the ropes.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Heras wants to control from the top but Coleman keeps moving.

Heras looking to break Coleman's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Coleman remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Heras will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
Coleman is covering up but some of the strikes from Heras are getting through and doing damage.

Heras thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.

Heras is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Coleman defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
Coleman tries to escape but Heras has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Coleman wants to control his opponent's hands but Heras gets his hands free.
Coleman is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Heras throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Heras is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Coleman defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

Heras is working the ground and pound here and the referee is taking a close look at Coleman. He must escape soon or this one will be stopped.

Watch the back of the head! Comes the shout from the referee towards Heras.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Coleman is working an open guard so Heras takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Coleman leaves Heras with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Heras fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Coleman avoids it really well and circles away.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

It looks like Lance Heras has been cut.

Coleman moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Coleman lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Heras backs up against the ropes.

Coleman closes the distance and pushes Heras back into the ropes.

Heras breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Heras fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Coleman swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Coleman stuffs the takedown attempt from Heras. Heras gets slowly back to his feet.

Coleman throws a right hand that Heras ducks under and follows up with a left that Heras also avoids with ease.
Heras connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Coleman lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Heras circles away quickly and effectively.

Heras fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Coleman to the ground. Heras is now in Coleman's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Heras drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Coleman dives on top into guard.

Coleman will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Heras looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Coleman stands and steps away. Heras gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Coleman parries the strikes from Heras easily there. Heras is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Coleman to escape.
Heras postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Coleman is not content to let Heras control the position.
Heras takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Heras shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Coleman as he avoids it easily.
It looked like Coleman was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Heras avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
