Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Lou Mcguire (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Myke Toifer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Toifer has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Toifer shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mcguire as he jumps to the side.
Toifer looks winded!
Toifer shoots in but no luck this time.
Toifer doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Mcguire moves into range and clinches up with Toifer.
Mcguire lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Mcguire jumps guard and drags Toifer to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Mcguire uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Mcguire lands an elbow inside.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Toifer drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Toifer jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Toifer drops back, looking for a kneebar! Mcguire looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Mcguire looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Mcguire!

Toifer takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.

Mcguire fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Toifer looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.

Mcguire ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Mcguire no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
Mcguire is pulling down on Toifer's head. It's preventing any offense from Toifer, at least for the moment.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Mcguire manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

Mcguire comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.

Toifer thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Mcguire gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
The fighters circle momentarily. Mcguire darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Toifer is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Mcguire is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Mcguire has escaped and now he's on top!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Toifer is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Toifer drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Mcguire manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Toifer has Mcguire in his guard.

Toifer is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mcguire is aware though and is defending well.

Mcguire got a little sloppy there for a moment and Toifer has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mcguire has managed to get both his arms back between Toifer's legs - danger averted.
