Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Wayne Barret (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Maxim Vladyslav Volkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Wayne Barret!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Maxim Vladyslav Volkov!
The judges for this bout are Russell Pearce, Dean Styles and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barret closes the distance and clinches.
Volkov struggles to land a body shot inside as Barret controls his hands.
Barret has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Volkov after a bit of a struggle.
Barret prevents a body shot from Volkov.
Volkov tries to work over Barret's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Volkov swings wildly with an uppercut but Barret uses good head movement to avoid it.
Volkov lands a left hand.
Barret goes for a takedown attempt but Volkov pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Barret throws a head kick that Volkov semi-blocks.
Barret closes the distance and clinches.
Barret manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barret gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Barret lands with a light punch inside.
Barret prevents a body shot from Volkov.
Volkov throws a punch but it's blocked by Barret.
Barret tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Volkov smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Wayne Barret. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Volkov misses with a double jab.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Barret moves into the clinch.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Barret just misses with a elbow thrown towards Volkov's brow.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Volkov breaks from the clinch.
Barret slips a jab and a cross from Volkov.
Volkov throws a head kick but Barret moves out of range.
Volkov scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
It looks like Wayne Barret has been cut.
Barret moves into the clinch.
Volkov working aggressively here.
Volkov throws a punch but it's blocked by Barret.
Barret wants a takedown but no success here.
Volkov misses with a hook from the clinch.
Volkov misses with a short punch on the inside.
Volkov breaks the clinch.
Barret lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.
It looks like Maxim Vladyslav Volkov has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Volkov takes one to the chin there.
Volkov closes the distance and pushes Barret back into the cage.
Barret has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Volkov is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Barret breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Volkov steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Barret. That one must have hurt.
Maxim Vladyslav Volkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Volkov closes the distance and clinches.
Barret is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Barret scores with a nice hook to the head.
Volkov is rocked!
Barret creates some distance for himself and unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Volkov's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Volkov drops to his knees and Barret pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:29 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Wayne Barret!
