Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cliff Rivers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Collis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Collis has chosen Jerry as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Cliff Rivers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Max Collis!
The judges for this bout are Chris Dean, Ben Watson and Damien Edna.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rivers tries for a takedown but Collis sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Rivers shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Collis unleashes a big counter combination but Rivers bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Rivers darts in looking for a takedown but Collis gets double underhooks and turns Rivers into the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Cliff Rivers. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Collis moves into the clinch successfully.

Rivers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Collis misses with a body kick.
A quick step to the side and Rivers tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Rivers takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Collis gets a clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rivers tries to pull guard but Collis holds him up against the cage and eventually Rivers drops back down to his feet.

Rivers breaks the clinch.
Collis throws a shot to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Collis throws a combination. Rivers tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Rivers gets tackled into the cage by Collis. Collis maintains the clinch.
Collis is looking to break free of the clinch but Rivers has double underhooks.

Rivers breaks from the clinch.
Rivers is trying hard to land a takedown here. Collis sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Rivers sets himself, and Collis steps forward looking for the clinch! Rivers avoids it this time.

Collis moves into range and clinches up with Rivers.
Rivers has had enough of the clinch but Collis keeps him there for the moment.
Rivers tries to pull guard but Collis holds him up against the cage and eventually Rivers drops back down to his feet.
Rivers fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Rivers is trying to push Collis away but Collis has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Rivers has Collis pressed against the cage, preventing Collis from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Rivers pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Collis scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Rivers checks a leg kick.
Collis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Rivers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Collis counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Rivers blocks a head kick by Collis.
Rivers went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Collis throws a nice looking combination but Rivers bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A shot to the liver by Collis. Beautiful body shot.
Rivers tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Collis was well out of range. Poor timing from Rivers.
Rivers tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Collis swivels and escapes.
Collis tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Rivers dodges the punch combination from Collis.
It looked like Rivers was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Collis throws a one two combo.
Collis is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Rivers tries for a takedown but Collis circles away easily
and Collis counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Rivers closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Collis to the mat! Collis manages to get full guard.

Collis manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Rivers is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Rivers just misses with a elbow thrown towards Collis's brow.
Collis tries to circle away but Rivers has him pinned against the cage.
Rivers wants to get back to striking at distance but Collis won't allow it.
Collis can't break the clinch.
Rivers looking to stall.

Rivers manages to break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Max Collis dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



Collis closes the distance and pushes Rivers back into the cage.
Collis wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Collis has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Rivers keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Collis's efforts to push away.

Rivers breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Collis scores with a three punch combo!
Collis tries a head kick but it misses.
Collis scores with a one two! Rivers had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rivers has his takedown stuffed
and Collis connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


Rivers is rocked!
Collis catches Rivers with a right, a left, a right. It's raining punches and Rivers forgot an umbrella! Another punch and he's down. This one is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:57 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Max Collis!
Max Collis decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
