Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jude Curtis!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stefan Washington!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Curtis fails in his attempt to clinch.
Curtis misses with a hook. Washington ducked under it nicely.
And Washington tries to counter it with a takedown but Curtis pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Curtis dives in for a single leg takedown but Washington sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Curtis shoots for a takedown but Washington saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Despite the aggression on Washington's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Washington stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Washington wants it to stay on the feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jude Curtis. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Washington darts in and clinches Curtis up against the cage.

Washington manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Washington takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Curtis wants to get back to striking at distance but Washington won't allow it.

Stefan Washington seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Washington rushes Curtis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Curtis's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Washington lands a good knee to the midsection. Curtis won't want to take too many of those.

Washington drags the fight down to the ground.
Washington pulls Curtis in close to prevent any damage.
Curtis distracts Washington with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Curtis content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Curtis throwing strikes from guard but Washington blocks nicely.
Curtis has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Washington really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Curtis. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Washington utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Curtis wants to get up but he can't break Washington's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Washington is trying to trip Curtis. He has hold of a leg but Curtis is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Washington persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Curtis is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Washington wants to control from the top but Curtis keeps moving.

Washington decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Curtis, up you get!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Curtis gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Washington to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Washington decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Stefan Washington showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Washington has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Curtis clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

A bit of a pause in the action here. Washington controlling the positon.

Washington might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Curtis haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
What can Curtis do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

I really don't envy Curtis right now.

Washington wants to control the position but Curtis frees himself and scrambles - Washington manages to regain control in side control.
Washington remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Washington wants to take a breather but Curtis manages to regain guard - a lesson learnt for Washington.

Well Washington has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
