The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Quinn Mcdonagh throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Lucania.
Lucania lands a nice leg kick that just misses Quinn Mcdonagh's sensitive parts.
Quinn Mcdonagh misses with an uppercut
and Lucania counters with an inside leg kick.
That kick from Lucania tenderised Quinn Mcdonagh's leg. Quinn Mcdonagh is trying to keep his angry face on.
Quinn Mcdonagh lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Quinn Mcdonagh throws out a loose jab but Lucania uses good head movement to avoid it.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Quinn Mcdonagh has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Lucania breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Lucania counters with a slapping leg kick.
Quinn Mcdonagh swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Lucania lands a left and a right that send Quinn Mcdonagh crashing to the mat, dazed. Lucania thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Quinn Mcdonagh is rocked!

Lucania forces Quinn Mcdonagh back against the cage and clinches.

Lucania's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Quinn Mcdonagh seems to have recovered his senses.

and Lucania counters with a crisp right hand that drops Quinn Mcdonagh! Lucania lets Quinn Mcdonagh back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
That has opened up James Quinn Mcdonagh's cut even more.

Lucania jerks Quinn Mcdonagh's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Quinn Mcdonagh drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Lucania goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Lucania because Quinn Mcdonagh was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.

Salvatore Lucania decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
