PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Khal Drogo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Earl Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Drogo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Blessings - Big Sean FT Drake and Kanye West. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Khal Drogo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Earl Allen!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Emerson Jorge and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Excellent takedown into side control there by Drogo.
Allen tries to bench press Drogo off him but Drogo keeps the position.
Allen prevents Drogo from moving into mount.
Allen is being controlled here.
Allen is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Drogo has just dragged him back down to the mat.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Allen tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Drogo wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Allen closes this distance looking for a takedown but Drogo circles away.

Drogo's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Drogo throws a strike but Allen rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Drogo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
If it seems like I'm not saying a lot, it's just because Drogo is stinking the place up with his stalling.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Drogo seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Allen for as long as he can get away with.

Allen bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Drogo's guard.

Drogo stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Drogo wants it to stay on the feet.

We've been informed that Allen has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Drogo is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Allen can do to turn this around?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
You can see the frustration on Allen's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Drogo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Allen keeps working.
Allen takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Drogo is looking to take a break and control but Allen is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Allen is trying to escape the position but Drogo is controlling the position.

Allen tries to roll over but Drogo keeps him under control.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Drogo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Allen shoots for a double leg takedown but Drogo sprawls well. He's pushed Allen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Drogo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
No joy there for Drogo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Drogo misses with a looping right.

Drogo fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Allen to the ground. Drogo is now in Allen's guard.

Allen escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Drogo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Allen wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've been hearing that Drogo has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.

Allen shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Drogo as he avoids it easily.

Allen is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Allen is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.
Allen stalling away here and it's allowed Drogo to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Allen has gone for a leg lock! Drogo slips out almost immediately though and dives into Allen's guard.

Well Drogo has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
