Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Anderson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Walter Herman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Anderson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Walter Herman!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Herman displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Anderson.
Herman throws out a counter right but Anderson avoids it with no problem.

Anderson feints and as Herman raises his hands in defense, Anderson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Herman is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Herman goes for a takedown attempt but Anderson pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Herman fails with the takedown.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Anderson moves into the clinch.
Anderson tries to score a body lock takedown but Herman shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Herman stalling in the clinch.
Anderson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Herman pulls his leg out and moves away.

Anderson wants to clinch up but Herman keeps it at a distance.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Anderson, as that shot connected.

Herman drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Herman controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
Anderson has Herman pulled in close to control his posture.
Herman scoring with punches to the head and body.

It looks like Herman might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Herman not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Anderson is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Herman stays in close to Anderson's body and controls the position.
Anderson is trying to keep Herman in close.

Herman slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
We've been informed that Herman has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Anderson closes the distance and pushes Herman back into the cage.

Anderson's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Anderson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Anderson wants it to stay on the feet.

Herman decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Anderson is trying to control but can't.
Anderson blocking the ground and pound attempt from Herman.

Anderson is looking for a sweep. Herman is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Herman lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Herman decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Anderson throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.

Herman shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Anderson is breathing heavily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Herman seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Walter Herman will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Anderson thows a huge punch but Herman dodges it nicely.

Anderson decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.

Anderson wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Herman has him pressed against the cage.

Anderson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Carlos Anderson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Walter Herman.

Herman shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Anderson moves into full guard.

Herman trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Anderson has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Herman is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Anderson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Herman is standing up over Anderson. Anderson looks to escape but Herman dives into side control.

Anderson is letting Herman control him for a moment.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Herman swings around for an armbar but Anderson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Herman's guard.

Herman wants to stand but Anderson is controlling the position.
Anderson content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Anderson works over Herman with some ground and pound from guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Anderson stays in close to Herman's body and controls the position.
Anderson wants to control from the top but Herman keeps moving.

Anderson shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Herman as he avoids it easily.
Herman misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Anderson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Anderson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

Herman feints and as Anderson raises his hands in defense, Herman changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Anderson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Herman defends it easily.
Anderson throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Herman is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Anderson wants to sweep but no luck.

Herman trying to control the position from guard on top but Anderson is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Anderson controls Herman momentarily but Herman frees himself.
Herman loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Anderson will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Anderson tries to close the distance and clinch but Herman swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Herman circles away from the clinch attempt.
Anderson tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Herman is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Anderson's half guard.

Herman content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Anderson looking for submissions off his back.
Herman slows the pace down in half guard.

Herman seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Anderson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Herman keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Anderson wants to get back to his feet.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Herman shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Anderson sprawls well. Anderson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Herman gets slowly back to his feet.

Anderson gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Herman to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Anderson looking for a guillotine here but Herman defends easily.

Anderson working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Herman has passed into half guard!

Walter Herman comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
