Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Clifford Butler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Invictus Brutalus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Invictus Brutalus will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Butler closes the distance and clinches.
Brutalus looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!

Butler jumps guard.

Butler is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Butler wants to sweep here but Brutalus controlling him for the moment.
Butler lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Brutalus has his foot on Butler's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Butler works his way back into a safe position though.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Brutalus wants to control from the top but Butler keeps moving.

Butler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Brutalus can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

We've been informed that Brutalus has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Butler throws a head kick but Brutalus moves out of range.

Brutalus gets tackled into the cage by Butler. Butler maintains the clinch.

Butler jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Brutalus walks away with a smile on his face. Butler gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Brutalus is trying to maintain the position but Butler is very close to passing his half guard.

Butler looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Butler looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Brutalus with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Butler lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
