Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Kelvin Burgess (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Isfel Gurgaram (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gurgaram has chosen Hymne national Bulgare as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kelvin Burgess!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Isfel Gurgaram!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gurgaram closes the distance and clinches up with Burgess, looking for a takedown. Gurgaram pushes Burgess against the cage but Burgess circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
No luck for Gurgaram with that takedown attempt.
Burgess throws a big counter combination but Gurgaram scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.

Gurgaram gets a double leg takedown into Burgess's guard.

Burgess is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Gurgaram defends well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Burgess is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Gurgaram is aware though and is defending well.

Gurgaram drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Gurgaram jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Gurgaram looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
Burgess really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Burgess keeping full guard, as Gurgaram tries to pass.
Gurgaram slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Gurgaram wants to control from the top but Burgess keeps moving.

Burgess looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Gurgaram slips nicely into half guard.

Gurgaram is trying for a kimura here. Burgess looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Gurgaram wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Isfel Gurgaram!
