Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Thiago Meida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Leon Bassi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). On his way into the cage it seems that Thiago Meida has been attacked by a crazed fan! It looks like it might have been the just bleed guy! Luckily Thiago Meida seems to be OK! I thought that lunatic was in prison!?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meida fails with a takedown attempt.
Bassi connects with a nice looking jab.
The fighters circle momentarily. Bassi darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Bassi lands with a right hand.
Meida shoots for a takedown but Bassi saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Bassi closes the distance and lands a one-two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bassi scores with a jab.
Bassi cracks a nice hook into Meida's ribs.
Meida moves away from the strike by Bassi.
Meida attempts a counter takedown but Bassi avoids it well and moves away.
Meida doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Bassi counters with a shoot takedown. Meida fights it but they end up in guard.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Thiago Meida. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Meida seems keen to control Bassi's posture.
Bassi is looking to stand up but Meida won't let him.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Meida is controlling Bassi's posture.
Bassi wants to stand but Meida has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Meida is adopting a defensive guard.
Meida has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bassi doesn't defend quickly enough and Meida has managed to lock this one up! Can Bassi escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Meida on a fantastic submission victory.
