Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shae Wright (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tal Gator (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tal Gator has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Shae Wright!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Tal Gator!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wright tries to bum rush Gator with a series of wild strikes but Gator uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Wright has managed to clinch.
Wright gets underhooks to prevent Gator's takedown attempt.

Wright breaks from the clinch.
Gator has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Wright is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Wright misses with a wild body shot.
A nice side step and Gator releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Wright rushes Gator and presses him up against the cage.
Wright has Gator pushed against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Wright takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wright landing knees to the body.

Wright breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Wright has closed the distance and engaged Gator in a clinch.
The referee calls for Wright to work.
Wright connects with a nasty looking knee right to Gator's face.

Wright breaks from the clinch.

Wright bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Gator sneaks out the side door and pushes Wright away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Wright fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Wright fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Gator avoids it really well and circles away.
A slapping leg kick lands for Wright.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Wright tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Gator paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Wright looks to clinch
and Gator counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Wright thinking.
Shae Wright seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wright pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Gator tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Wright defends well and Gator ends up having to push Wright into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Gator instigates a clinch.
Gator wants a takedown but no success here.
Shae Wright has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tal Gator.

Wright breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Wright lands with a slapping head kick.
Gator fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gator avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Wright instigates a clinch.
Wright slowing the pace effectively.
Knees to the body from Wright.
Wright taking a break, stalling in the clinch.
Wright prevents the takedown attempt.
Gator is looking for a takedown.
Gator misses with a hook from the clinch.

Wright breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Gator misses with a takedown attempt
and Wright counters with a big head kick but Gator shrugs it off.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Wright gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Gator counters with a straight right hand.

Wright closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Gator blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Gator is trying to drag Wright to the mat but Wright just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Gator avoiding damage as Wright throws knees to the body.
Wright taking a breather.
Wright tries to land a knee to the head but Gator blocks with his arms.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shae Wright dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Wright throws a head kick but Gator moves out of range.
Gator looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Wright.
Wright stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Wright wants it to stay on the feet.
Gator takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Wright decides to pull guard.
Wright is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wright keeping moving, preventing Gator from controlling successfully.

Gator drops back looking for a leg! Wright is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Wright manages to kick Gator off! Gator jumps back into Wright's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Wright is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gator is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Gator has gone for a leg lock! Wright slips out almost immediately though and dives into Gator's guard.


Gator is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Wright is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Gator can do to turn this around?
Wright loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Wright avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Gator is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Wright frees his head nicely. Oh but Gator has switched to an armbar! Wright is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:35 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle Armbar). Tal Gator!
