Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Rick Shore (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammed Omad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rick Shore has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mohammed Omad!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Omad enables Shore to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Omad manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Omad is on top in guard.

Shore working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Omad doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Omad manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Omad stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Shore swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Omad is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Omad bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Shore here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Shore closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Omad did well to prevent Shore getting side control.

Omad has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Shore is landing a low percentage of strikes.

That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Shore crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Omad - the referee stops the clock and Shore gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Omad. Shore manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.
