The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shibaloma throws a head kick that half lands.
Alvarez on the wrong end of a nice hook.
A low kick from Shibaloma misses

and Alvarez counters with a takedown into side control.
Shibaloma is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.

Alvarez is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Shibaloma knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Alvarez is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
Shibaloma looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Alvarez is trying to get an arm triangle but Shibaloma is defending well.

Alvarez has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Shibaloma is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Alvarez yanks on the arm and Shibaloma is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Alvarez.
