The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Joyce fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Valderrama to the ground. Joyce is now in Valderrama's guard.
Valderrama looking to control.
Joyce connects with a couple of short punches.
Valderrama has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA London. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.
Valderrama is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Joyce landing with the ground and pound.
Valderrama wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Joyce manages to pass to side control.

Valderrama is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Joyce pulls his head out easily.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Valderrama is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Joyce scores with a couple of nice shots.

Joyce seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Valderrama looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Joyce pushes past his half guard into mount!

Valderrama is bucking up trying to escape but Joyce cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

Joyce lands a big shot there that rocks Valderrama but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.

Joyce postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Valderrama looks a forlorn figure.

Joyce unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Valderrama wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Joyce celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
