Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Lee (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Smooth Jay (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Smooth Jay has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dave Lee!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Smooth Jay!
The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Felipe Paraventi and Paulo Santos.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee throws a right hand that Jay ducks under and follows up with a left that Jay also avoids with ease.

Jay forces Lee back against the cage and clinches.
Jay blocking some punches.

Jay pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lee closes the distance looking to clinch

and Jay moves into the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Lee.
Lee prevents a takedown attempt there.
Lee is trying to break free.

Jay pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Lee misses with a series of wild punches.
Jay circles away from the clinch attempt

and Jay counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Lee's guard now.
Jay is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Jay wants to control from the top but Lee keeps moving.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jay tries to free his leg and advance position but Lee is retaining full guard.

Jay gets to his feet - Lee follows without any prompting.
Lee lunges at Jay with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Jay's hand.


It looks like Smooth Jay has been cut.

Lee looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Jay pulls Lee in close to his closed guard and prevents Lee from doing any damage or advancing position.

Lee tries to stand but Jay is controlling from the bottom.

Jay has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Jay is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Lee has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Lee wants to stand but Jay has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Jay wants to control but Lee passes easily into half guard.
Lee prevents Jay from improving his position.
Jay won't allow Lee to pass to mount.
Lee tries to stand and escape but Jay actually recovers to full guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Jay has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Lee can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Lee loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Lee wants to control from the top but Jay keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Smooth Jay will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on Smooth Jay's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Lee scores with a jab to the body.
Nice uppercut there from Lee.

Lee gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
Jay wants to pass the guard but Lee is keeping the position.
Jay won't allow Lee to get back to his feet.

Jay gets to his feet. Lee looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!
Jay misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Lee gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jay with a flurry of punches that miss.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jay trying to control the position from guard on top but Lee is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Jay slips nicely into half guard.
Lee knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jay on the ground.
Jay is keen to just control but Lee is a slippery customer.
Lee trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!
Jay can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lee is looking to escape.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Lee blocking the ground and pound.
Lee really wants to buck Jay off and get back to his feet.
Jay postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Lee looks a forlorn figure.
Jay controlling the pace for now.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Jay cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jay punching from mount but Lee doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Lee wants to control but Jay is having none of it.
Jay controlling the pace for now.
Jay wants to control the pace but Lee is squirming around nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Jay is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lee can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Lee somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Lee lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Lee throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jay misses with a body punch
and Lee counters with a straight right hand.
Lee walks forward, straight into a front kick from Jay.
Jay waving his hands out infront of him, looking to distract Lee.

Jay scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Jay trying to pass the guard but Lee defending well.
Jay with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Smooth Jay showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Smooth Jay's cut.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.



Jay shoots in and bounces Lee off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Jay gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Lee lands a head shot.
Lee misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Lee swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
No joy there for Jay, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Jay fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lee, pushing him back against the cage.
Jay lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Jay pulls guard effortlessly.
Jay wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jay is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Lee is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jay looking to control.
Jay pulls Lee in close to prevent any damage.
Lee wants to stand but Jay is controlling his posture from full guard.
Jay manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jay controlling from mount.
Jay breaks from Lee's wrist control and lands an elbow.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Jay controlling the position easily from mount.
A nice elbow there by Jay.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jay controlling his opponent.
Jay is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Lee can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jay tries to control but Lee wriggling away.

Despite being in the dominant position, Smooth Jay just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Jay scores with a push kick.

And that's the end of the fight!
Smooth Jay comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Jay winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
