Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stan Patrick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tommy Truck (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tommy Truck will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Summer Carpenter, Donatello Bradman and Ben Hemmingworth.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Truck tries a head kick but it misses.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Truck, as that shot connected.
Truck should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Truck cracks the inside of Patrick's front leg.
Truck closes the distance and lands a one-two.
It looks like Stan Patrick has been cut.
Truck misses with a series of wild punches.
Tommy Truck seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A head kick misses from Truck.
Patrick drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Patrick controls the position.
Truck wants to control but Patrick postures up.
Truck might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Patrick haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.

Truck throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
A nice leg kick lands there from Truck.

and Patrick holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

Patrick tries to pull guard but Truck holds him up against the cage and eventually Patrick drops back down to his feet.

Truck will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
Truck swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Patrick counters with a stiff right hand.
Patrick dodges the punch combination from Truck.

Truck gets tackled into the cage by Patrick. Patrick maintains the clinch.
Truck wants to stall.
Patrick is working for takedown but Truck is calmly controlling the position for now.
Patrick has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Truck after a bit of a struggle.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Stan Patrick. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Truck's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Patrick is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Truck defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.

So, who will make the next big move? In this position it could be crucial.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Patrick drops down looking for a counter takedown but Truck sprawls and moves away.

Patrick wants to get back to his feet but Truck is holding on tight.
Truck really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patrick. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Truck is squirming around, avoiding Patrick's attempts to control the action.
Patrick is standing up out of mount! Strange tactic there - he must really want this one on the feet!

Truck has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Truck fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Patrick keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.
Truck connects with a leg kick. Patrick looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Patrick tries to stand but Truck is controlling from the bottom.
Patrick will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Patrick trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.

Truck is breathing heavily.
Patrick wants to stand but Truck has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Truck manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Patrick manages to get himself to full guard.
Patrick had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Truck defends it easily.

Patrick working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Truck doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Truck manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Patrick looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Patrick is looking for a triangle but Truck pushes his legs off easily.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Patrick is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Patrick throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Truck escapes and throws Patrick's legs to the side, diving into side control!
Truck wants to control but Patrick is keeping him busy.

Truck throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Truck misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Truck looks to score with a jab to the body but Patrick is just out of range.
Truck takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Patrick moves into the clinch.
Truck wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Patrick has him pressed against the cage.
Truck stalling in the clinch but Patrick improves position.
Patrick jumps guard but Truck stands there with Patrick around his waist. Patrick gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Truck tries to land a front kick but Patrick steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
