Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Aigars Senko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Ramirez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Senko comes to the cage accompanied by will.i.am T.H.E. (The Hardest Ever) . These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 35 - 24 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ricardo Ramirez!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Yves DeLean and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice combination there by Ramirez.

Ramirez is stalling here. Senko is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Ramirez seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Senko has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Senko cracks Ramirez with a big right hand but Ramirez just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ramirez tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Senko wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

The ground and pound from Senko seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
You can see the frustration on Ramirez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Senko is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Ramirez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Ramirez shrugs it off.

Senko throwing strikes here but Ramirez is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Ramirez sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

We've been told by Senko's head coaches at UHK, Inc. that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Ramirez has Senko pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Senko manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Senko tries to counter by clinching up but Ramirez breaks away and moves out of range.

Senko throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ramirez with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Senko to score with a decent uppercut.

Senko takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Senko lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Ramirez has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Ramirez and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

Senko shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Ramirez buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Senko takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Aigars Senko is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Senko uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Ramirez.
Senko shoots for a double leg takedown but Ramirez sprawls well. He's pushed Senko's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Well Senko has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
