PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Terence Moses (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Noah Diaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Terence Moses!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Noah Diaz!
The judges for this bout are William Gold, Phil Schofield and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diaz with a poor takedown
and Diaz takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Diaz looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Moses!
Diaz tries to move to full mount but Moses actually manages to regain half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Diaz gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Diaz has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Moses regains guard immediately.
Diaz engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

Moses working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Diaz has passed into half guard!

Moses looking for submissions off his back.

Moses is doing well to control the position and prevent Diaz from advancing to side control.
Diaz keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Moses really is a fat lump.
Moses throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
Diaz seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Diaz closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Diaz lands in his opponent's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Moses had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Diaz defends it easily.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Diaz gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
letting Moses counter with a right hand.

Diaz clinches up against the cage.
Moses misses with a body punch.
Diaz is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Moses pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Moses wants to stall.
Moses is stalling here. The referee will be looking to step in if he doesn't pick up the pace.
Moses is trying to break free.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Diaz blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
A frustrated look appears on Moses's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Diaz has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Diaz tightens his grip and picks Moses up, before dumping him to the ground. Moses manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Diaz controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

Moses will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Diaz is continuing to stall.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Diaz trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Diaz takes the fight into the clinch.

Diaz wants the takedown. Moses is fighting it off but Diaz persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Moses's guard against the cage.
Noah Diaz has got the better of the ground game so far.
Diaz is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Diaz throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Diaz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Diaz's corner is telling him to maintain position.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Diaz postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

and Moses counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Noah Diaz showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Moses's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Diaz shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Moses but Moses pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Moses gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Diaz to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Diaz not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Moses looking for a guillotine here but Diaz defends easily.

Moses working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Diaz doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Diaz manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Diaz with a flurry of punches that miss.
Diaz is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Diaz feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Diaz is looking to work some ground and pound but Moses has wrist control.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Diaz scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.

Noah Diaz comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Diaz winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
