The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lambert tries a head kick but it misses.
Mason looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Lambert is looking for the big counter here.

Lambert moves into the clinch successfully.

Mason breaks the clinch.
Lambert circles away from the clinch attempt.
Mason takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

It looks like Matthew Mason has been cut.

Mason gets tackled into the cage by Lambert. Lambert maintains the clinch.
Mason tries to pull guard but Lambert forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Lambert lands a damaging elbow.
Lambert lands a nice elbow.
Knees in the clinch landing for Lambert.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mason shoots in but no luck this time.
A head kick misses from Lambert.

Lambert fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mason, pushing him back against the cage.

Lambert lands an elbow inside that Mason shrugs off.

Lambert lands a big knee from the Thai clinch and Mason goes down hard! The ref takes a good look at him but he's still defending himself. Lambert in side control.

Mason is rocked!
Lambert should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Lambert tries to score with some ground and pound. Mason controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Oh Mason is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Lambert stands up and we're back to a striking position.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Lambert comes over the top with an elbow. That landed flush.
Lambert landing knees to the body.
Lambert throws a big uppercut that drops Mason! More strikes from Lambert and the referee jumps in to stop the fight! Mason lies dazed against the cage as Lambert celebrates with his cornermen!
