The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richards keeps the fight on the outside.
Richards misses with a body shot.
No joy there for Aldo, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
The fight stays on the outside here - Aldo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Richards is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Aldo swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Aldo closes the distance and clinches.
Richards lands with a short shot to the head.
Aldo struggles to land a body shot inside as Richards controls his hands.
Aldo stalling the fight.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Aldo tries to stall but Richards uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Aldo breaks the clinch.
Richards clobbers Aldo with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.

It looked like Aldo was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Richards looks to throw the jab but Aldo is out of range.
Richards has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Aldo.

Aldo throws a head kick that misses
and Richards counters with a nice uppercut.
Aldo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Aldo moves in looking to clinch but Richards pushes him off.
Aldo fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Richards throws out a token jab with nothing on it.

Richards throws out a counter right but Aldo avoids it with no problem.

Aldo is rocked!
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Aldo gets clipped by a big right hand and goes down spinning to the canvas! Richards gets the back mount and begins to drop bombs on his rocked foe! Aldo is too out of it to defend against the strikes and the referee jumps in to save him from the beatdown!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Viv Richards!
