And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tiago Moitas!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Men closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Moitas gets control of Men's arms and successfully pulls guard. Moitas will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Moitas is looking for a triangle but Men pushes his legs off easily.
Men showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Moitas trying to keep a closed guard but Men is proving a slippery customer.

Men decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Moitas, up you get!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moitas lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
Moitas shoots in looking for a takedown. Men tries to sprawl out of it but Moitas keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Men manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Men changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Men clinches up with Moitas and pushes him back against the cage.
Men is pushing Moitas up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Men manages to break the clinch.

Men darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Men controlling the action here.
Moitas tries to roll over but Men keeps him under control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Men is controlling the pace.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Men tries to stand but his arm is trapped.
Moitas trying to control here.
Men throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Men not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Moitas wants to control the action here but instead Men manages to pass to full mount!
Men scores with a couple of good head shots there.
Men with shots to the head and body - Moitas looks very uncomfortable down there.
Moitas is bucking up trying to escape but Men cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Men lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Men controlling from the full mount.
Men has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Moitas really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Moitas in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Men controlling the pace for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Men shoots in and gets a takedown into Moitas's guard.
Moitas wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Men manages to pass to side control.
Moitas really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Men. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Still in half guard, Men seems content to control.
Nivea Men overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Moitas is trying to get back to full guard.
Moitas wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Men with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Moitas wants to control but Men is keeping busy.
Nice strikes from Men there.
Men working Moitas over with strikes.
Men is thwarting Moitas's attempts to control the position.
Men uses his free foot to push down on Moitas's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Moitas.
Men looking to control and managing it successfully.

Moitas is trying to reverse the position but instead Men has taken his back - oops!
Men biding his time, looking for the opening.
Men is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Moitas can do to turn this around?

Men is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Moitas is tapping out! This one is all over!
