The crowd seem to be enjoying Thurmond's choice of entrance music: Black Skinhead. Joe Thurmond looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thurmond tries to bum rush Humphrey with a series of wild strikes but Humphrey uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Thurmond looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Thurmond connects with a body shot that sends Humphrey's belly button to the back.
Thurmond throws a series of punches but Humphrey avoids them all with ease.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Thurmond moves in looking to clinch but Humphrey pushes him off.

That was a close round but I would say that Joesph Humphrey will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Humphrey jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Thurmond walks away with a smile on his face. Humphrey gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Humphrey rushes Thurmond and presses him up against the cage.
Humphrey is trying to drag Thurmond to the mat but Thurmond just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Thurmond is trying to stall.

Humphrey has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Thurmond uses from the top position.
Joe Thurmond has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Thurmond must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Humphrey, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
