Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Silva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Machida's choice of entrance music: boom boom pow. Matheus Machida acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machida fails to land the takedown.
Machida is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Silva looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Silva works his way into full mount!

Silva stands up from mount. Strange move.

Silva shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Machida working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Silva.

Silva stands up from Machida's guard - Silva perhaps looking for a knockout.
Machida looks gassed!
Silva has his takedown stuffed

and Machida counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Silva!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silva is trying desperately to improve position.

Silva is squirming around, avoiding Machida's attempts to control the action.
Machida scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Silva?
Silva keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Machida goes for an armbar but Silva turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Silva.

Machida escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Silva gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Machida being controlled here, momentarily.
Silva is pushing down on Machida's leg trying to pass to half guard. Machida is fighting to maintain full guard but Silva has managed to sneak the leg through.
Silva content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Silva landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Silva stalling away here and it's allowed Machida to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Silva trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Silva drops back looking for a leg! Machida is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Machida manages to kick Silva off! Silva jumps back into Machida's guard.

Machida throws his legs up looking for a submission but Silva uses it to pass to side control.
Machida manages to work his way to half guard, despite Silva's best efforts.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Machida is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Silva has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Machida is tapping! This fight is all over!
