PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pablo Vidal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mr Blood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Blood gets caught flat footed, as Vidal shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Vidal wants to stand but Blood is controlling his posture from full guard.
Vidal throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Blood works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Vidal postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Vidal passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Blood is trying to improve his position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Vidal tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

Vidal misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Blood is looking for a sweep.
Blood is trying to control Vidal 's posture but Vidal avoids it.
Vidal in side control, just content to control the action for now.
Vidal sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Blood is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Vidal content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Vidal throws a strike aimed at the side of Blood's head but Blood avoids it well.
Blood can't do much from the bottom here.

Vidal tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Vidal has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The referee asks Vidal politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Vidal prefers to stall for the moment though.
Vidal wants to lay and pray for a moment but Blood keeps working.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Blood reaches up to try and control the position but Vidal seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Blood rolls and tries to escape and now Vidal has his back!

Vidal is pressing down on Blood's thigh, looking to free his foot. Blood is holding on for now.
Blood is refusing to be controlled, as Vidal sits in half guard.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Blood can do anything to dispel that myth.

Pablo Vidal overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Blood is working to get back to half guard.
Vidal is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Blood can do to turn this around?
Vidal tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Vidal 's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Blood is desperately trying to improve his position but Vidal has a good base and remains in mount.
Vidal has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Vidal throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Blood tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Vidal is in Blood's guard.

Vidal is trying to control. Blood wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Blood really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Vidal . If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Blood is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Vidal is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Blood is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
