PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Heather Poe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wesley Allen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Wesley Allen told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Heather Poe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Wesley Allen!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Wesley Smith and Alan Glass.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
No luck for Poe with that takedown attempt.
Poe closes this distance looking for a takedown but Allen circles away.

Poe clinches with his opponent.

Allen escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Allen blocks a head kick by Poe.

Allen gets a double leg takedown into Poe's guard.

Poe pushes Allen off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Allen instigates a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Allen tightens his grip and picks Poe up, before dumping him to the ground. Poe manages to land in guard.

Poe pushes Allen off and gets back to his feet.
Poe shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heather Poe. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Poe fails with a takedown attempt.

Allen clinches with his opponent.
Poe has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Allen avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Allen gets underhooks to prevent Poe's takedown attempt.
Poe lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.

Allen jumps guard and drags Poe to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Poe is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Allen has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Poe is looking to defend but Allen has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Poe! Allen pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Poe taps out and this one is all over!
