Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Jack Spinx (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Heirt (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spinx comes into the arena with Eye of the Tiger blaring out of the sound system. Carl Heirt has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Jack Spinx's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jack Spinx!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carl Heirt!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spinx shoots in and drives through. Heirt sprawls well.
Spinx swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Heirt gets caught flat footed, as Spinx shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Spinx throwing strikes from guard but Heirt blocks nicely.
Heirt keeping moving, preventing Spinx from controlling successfully.
Spinx might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Heirt wants to stand and escape but Spinx is having none of it.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Spinx accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Spinx throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Spinx in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Spinx throws a big right hand that misses.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Heirt showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Spinx.
Spinx misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Spinx misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Heirt gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Spinx counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Heirt!
Spinx trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Spinx is stalling here but it's allowed Heirt to get half guard.

Spinx is working for a kimura but Heirt is defending it quite comfortably.
Spinx is stalling here. Heirt is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Spinx seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Heirt has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Spinx is looking for a sweep.
Heirt really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Spinx. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
You can see the frustration on Spinx's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Spinx is looking to regain half guard here but Heirt keeps moving and retains side control.
Spinx throws an elbow to the body but it doesn't land.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Spinx will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Spinx looks to land a right hand but Heirt moved out of range.
Heirt with a lazy takedown attempt

and Spinx counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Heirt being controlled here, momentarily.
Spinx wants to control from the top but Heirt keeps moving.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Spinx throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Heirt is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Spinx is controlling him well.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Spinx throws a head kick but Heirt moves out of range.
Spinx fails to land with a series of punches.
Heirt blocks a head kick by Spinx.
Heirt doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Spinx counters with a shoot takedown. Heirt fights it but they end up in guard.
Heirt is breathing heavily.

Spinx controlling from the top position.
Spinx wants to control from the top but Heirt keeps moving.
Spinx has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Spinx pushing down on Heirt's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Heirt blocking the ground and pound attempt from Spinx.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Spinx wants to take a breather but Heirt is having none of it.
Well, if Spinx is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Heirt is staying active underneath Spinx, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Spinx is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Heirt is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Spinx is trying to work for a kimura but Heirt is defending well.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


Spinx throws a series of punches but Heirt moves out of range.

Spinx scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Heirt pushes Spinx away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Spinx gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Heirt takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Spinx throwing strikes but missing, from side control.

Spinx working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Spinx working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter.
Spinx advances nicely into full mount.
Spinx looking to finish with strikes here!
Spinx throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Heirt because Spinx loaded up on that one.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Spinx misses with a head shot.
Heirt tries to buck Spinx off but he can't manage it.
Spinx punching from mount but Heirt doing a good job of avoiding damage.
Spinx throws some wild stikes that Heirt manages to avoid easily.
Spinx misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

Spinx sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Spinx is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Spinx lands with some strikes.

Spinx unloads with some shots from mount but Heirt bucks and avoids them well.
Spinx throwing strikes here but Heirt is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Spinx working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Heirt wants to try and get back to his feet.

Heirt holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Spinx tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.

Jack Spinx showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Spinx, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
