Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Odis Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Archimedes Giano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Odis Carter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Archimedes Giano!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Anni Minnemäki and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter stuffs the takedown.
Carter tries to counter by clinching up but Giano breaks away and moves out of range.
Carter really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Giano throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Carter counters with a nice uppercut.
Giano blocks a head kick by Carter.
Carter ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Giano moves away.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Giano! But no joy.

Giano closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Giano can't break the clinch.

Carter escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Giano goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Giano closes the distance and clinches.
Giano is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Carter prevents Giano from breaking the clinch.
Carter is trying to maintain a safe position but Giano gets an underhook and turns Carter into the cage.
Carter has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Giano after a bit of a struggle.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Carter for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Carter is trying to drag Giano to the mat but Giano just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Carter drops down looking for an ankle pick but Giano pulls his leg out and moves away.
Giano shoots for a double leg takedown but Carter sprawls well. He's pushed Giano's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Carter went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Giano has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Giano is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carter is just riding it out for now. Giano eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Carter stuffs the takedown.
Carter seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Giano pushes Carter up against the cage in a clinch.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Giano pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Giano.
Carter tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Giano manages to circle out of the way.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Archimedes Giano showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Archimedes Giano seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
