The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Valo moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Nakki throws a body shot but no joy.
Valo throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Nakki on the side of the head.
Valo misses with a body shot.
Valo throws a leg kick but Nakki checks it.
Valo is looking to slow Nakki down with leg kicks.
Nakki lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Valo scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Valo attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.

Valo lands a big head kick that sends Nakki tumbling to the mat! Valo takes a step backwards and waves Nakki back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Nakki has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Highland CT & Spar in the buildup to the fight.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Nakki scores with a nice head shot.

It looks like Tapio Valo has been cut.
Valo steps in with a hook that catches Nakki right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Valo follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Nakki looks absolutely devastated.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:37 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Tapio Valo! Tapio Valo retains his middleweight title!
A relieved looking Tapio Valo thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
