Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between August Graves (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rin Obuzuki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rin Obuzuki has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, August Graves!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rin Obuzuki!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Chris Saunders and Jeff Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Obuzuki looking to score a takedown here. Graves is defending well but Obuzuki drives through and ends up in Graves's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Obuzuki decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Obuzuki scores with a takedown into Graves's guard.
Obuzuki stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Graves swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Graves really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Graves is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.

Graves manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.
Obuzuki goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Obuzuki ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Obuzuki no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Obuzuki pulls Graves in to control the position.

Graves will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Obuzuki keeping busy, throwing shots from the bottom.
Obuzuki not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Obuzuki looking to control but Graves passes into half guard.
Obuzuki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Graves scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
Obuzuki wants to control but Graves passes into side.

Graves decides to stand up, so the ref orders Obuzuki to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Obuzuki gets tackled into the cage by Graves. Graves maintains the clinch.

Obuzuki pulls Graves into guard.

Obuzuki throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Graves postures up in Obuzuki's guard and throws a big left but Obuzuki blocks it.
Obuzuki is looking to stand up but Graves isn't so interested in that idea.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Graves's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Graves gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Graves shoots in for a takedown but Obuzuki shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
As Graves backs off Obuzuki throws a huge counter combo but Graves manages to avoid it all.

Graves drives through with a takedown into guard.
Obuzuki tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Obuzuki looks winded!
Graves stands up over Obuzuki, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Graves decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Obuzuki shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

Graves manages to escape and get back to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Graves feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Obuzuki is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Graves dives into side control.
Graves has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.


Graves decides to stand up, so the ref orders Obuzuki to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

August Graves dominated that round.
That's time! Graves's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Nice takedown defense from Obuzuki. No joy for Graves on that attempt.
Obuzuki lands a front kick.

Graves darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Obuzuki has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Graves is on him like a limpet, forcing Obuzuki back against the cage.

Obuzuki throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Graves escapes and throws Obuzuki's legs to the side, diving into side control!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Obuzuki struggling a bit here.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Obuzuki pushes Graves away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Graves gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
Obuzuki gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Obuzuki is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Graves jumps into side control!
Obuzuki is breathing heavily.
Obuzuki struggling a bit here.
Obuzuki gets back to half guard.
Graves is thwarting Obuzuki's attempts to control the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Graves throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
August Graves overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Obuzuki tries to kick Graves off in order to stand up. Graves Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.

Graves is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Obuzuki is trying to escape and Graves transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Obuzuki is forced to tap! Nice work there by Graves! Very nice indeed!
