Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Joel Oneill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Antek Kopyto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Joel Oneill!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Antek Kopyto!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kopyto looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Oneill punching from the bottom.

Oneill looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
Oneill is trying to get back to full guard.
Kopyto content to control rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Oneill wants to control but Kopyto is keeping busy and won't allow it.

It looks like Kopyto is going to stand back up.
Oneill is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Kopyto throwing shots but Oneill is blocking nicely.

Kopyto wants to work for an arm triangle but Oneill is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Kopyto tries to stand but can't do so whilst Oneill controls his leg.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Oneill has a hand on Kopyto's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Kopyto takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
Kopyto takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Oneill sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Oneill wants to get back to full guard.
Oneill is working hard here to advance position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kopyto takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Oneill desperately trying to maintain half guard.

Kopyto decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Oneill gets a clinch.
Oneill is trying to stall.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Kopyto as Oneill tries to tie him up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Oneill has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Kopyto avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Kopyto is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Kopyto thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Kopyto throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Oneill fails with the takedown.

Kopyto shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Oneill manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Kopyto has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kopyto throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Oneill because Kopyto loaded up on that one.
Kopyto misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Kopyto thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Oneill holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Kopyto tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Kopyto tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Kopyto has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Kopyto goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Oneill is on top in guard.
Kopyto has control of Oneill's left arm, preventing Oneill from doing any damage.

Oneill makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.

Oneill content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Oneill is fighting to break Kopyto's control of his arms but Kopyto is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Kopyto utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Oneill gets to his feet - Kopyto follows without any prompting.

Oneill is trying to control Kopyto's posture but Kopyto avoids it.

Kopyto takes a little break here. Oneill wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.

Kopyto tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Kopyto has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Antek Kopyto showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Kopyto rushes Oneill and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Oneill is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Kopyto is defending well.

Kopyto gets control of Oneill's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kopyto will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Oneill won't allow Kopyto to sweep him here.

Oneill throws an elbow that misses. Kopyto uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Oneill's guard. Nice move by Kopyto!

Kopyto decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Oneill, up you get!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Kopyto will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Oneill takes a head kick and keeps coming.


It looks like Joel Oneill has been cut.
Oneill takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.

Oneill shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Oneill showed some decent athleticism there.

Kopyto makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Oneill closes the distance and pushes Kopyto back into the cage.

Oneill wants to control but Kopyto is keeping busy.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Kopyto stands up and beckons Oneill to join him on the feet.

Kopyto manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Oneill keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A right hook to the body lands for Kopyto.

Kopyto turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Kopyto decides to stand up, so the ref orders Oneill to his feet.

Kopyto gets a double leg takedown into Oneill's guard.

Antek Kopyto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kopyto has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
