The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masvidal closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jones tries to break free but Masvidal pushes him back against the cage.
Masvidal scores with a knee to the head.
Jones struggles to land a body shot inside as Masvidal controls his hands.
Jones tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Masvidal lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Masvidal has Jones pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Jones is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from Masvidal - that's hurt Jones badly! Oh, another knee lands and Jones is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Jones doesn't seem to be complaining.
