The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Howell gets a double leg takedown into Alonso's guard.

Howell is fighting to break Alonso's control of his arms but Alonso is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.
Howell is working Alonso over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Howell thows a huge punch but Alonso dodges it nicely.
Howell has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Howell connects with a nice short shot to Alonso's temple.
Howell should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Howell scores with a big shot! Alonso's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Alonso! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
