The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tillion wants to lay and pray for a moment but Irving keeps working.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

It looks like Jared Tillion has been cut.
Irving uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Tillion has time to react.
Jasper Irving is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tillion looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Irving is fending him off so far but Tillion persists. Nope, Irving circles away and we're back to standing.
Tillion shoots in but Irving avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Tillion dives in for a single leg takedown but Irving sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Irving comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.

and Irving counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Donk. Irving catches Tillion right on the button with a cross.

and Irving counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Irving cracks Tillion with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Irving has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Tillion to stand back up!

Irving lands a jab to Tillion's midsection.
Tillion is still on wobbly legs! Can Irving finish him?
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
