PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Andres Greer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jason Statham (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Andres Greer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jason Statham!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, James Glass and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Statham drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Statham not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Statham's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Greer not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Greer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Statham controls the pace.
Greer wants to sweep but no luck.
Greer could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Greer is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Statham wants to work for an arm triangle but Greer is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Statham seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Greer does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Greer was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Statham manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Greer on his heels. He'll look to pass Greer's guard now, I'm sure.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Statham manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Greer tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Statham smiles and moves away.

Greer wants to sweep but Statham has passed to side control!
Statham has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Statham working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Statham tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Statham has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Statham has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Statham shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Statham was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Greer tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Statham wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Statham tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Statham wants to lay and pray for a moment but Greer keeps working.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Greer manages to get back to half guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jason Statham comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Statham has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
