Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dan ONeal (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vladimir Kozlov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). ONeal comes into the arena with Eyes of the Tiger blaring out of the sound system. Kozlov has chosen Я за собой см&# as his entrance music. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dan ONeal!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Vladimir Kozlov!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Gwen Towbar and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kozlov circles away from the clinch attempt.
ONeal doesn't manage to clinch there - Kozlov circles away.

Kozlov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
ONeal tries to bench press Kozlov off him but Kozlov keeps the position.
Kozlov is looking to take a break and control but ONeal is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
ONeal manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Kozlov passes the guard and advances to mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kozlov is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, ONeal has managed to escape the submission attempt.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Kozlov is landing with some decent strikes but ONeal is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
ONeal swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Vladimir Kozlov dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


ONeal throws a looping overhand right but Kozlov ducks down to avoid it.
Vladimir Kozlov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Kozlov shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in ONeal's guard.

ONeal is trying to keep Kozlov in close.

Kozlov drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Kozlov jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

ONeal avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kozlov trying to stand up but can't free himself from ONeal's guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
ONeal wants to clinch up but Kozlov keeps it at a distance.
Kozlov is breathing heavily.
Kozlov keeps the fight on the outside.

ONeal shoots in but no luck this time.
Kozlov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with ONeal but ONeal pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Kozlov throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
ONeal lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.
ONeal lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Vladimir Kozlov has been cut.
ONeal steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Kozlov. That one must have hurt.
Kozlov misses with a few strikes there.
A clash of legs there as ONeal blocks the low kick.
The fight stays on the outside here - ONeal looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

ONeal pushes Kozlov up against the cage in a clinch.
Kozlov looking to stall.
Kozlov tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. ONeal just stands there and leans against the cage.

That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan ONeal. That's going to take a lot out of him.

and ONeal counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Kozlov gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Kozlov is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Kozlov gets underhooks to prevent ONeal's takedown attempt.

Kozlov gets control of ONeal's arms and successfully pulls guard. Kozlov will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
ONeal postures up.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

Kozlov pushes a forearm under ONeal's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, ONeal is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
