Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rythm Ray (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Matheus Fernandez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Rythm Ray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Matheus Fernandez!
The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ray throws a series of punches but Fernandez avoids them all with ease.
Fernandez shoots and misses

and Ray holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Fernandez has Ray pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Ray manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Ray has hold of one of Fernandez's legs. Fernandez is fighting the takedown attempt but Ray gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
Ray advances position into side control!
You can see the frustration on Fernandez's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Fernandez is looking for a sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ray working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Fernandez tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Ray presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!
Ray prevents Fernandez from getting the reversal.

Ray knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Fernandez on the ground.
Ray in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
Fernandez is wriggling around trying to escape.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Fernandez tries to lock up and control but Ray gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Fernandez is desperately trying to improve his position but Ray has a good base and remains in mount.
Ray tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ray looking to finish Fernandez with some ground and pound. This is bad for Fernandez!
Fernandez is looking to improve his position but Ray isn't that keen on the idea.

Ray working for a guillotine from mount but Fernandez is in no mood to give up.

Ray takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Fernandez is in all sorts of trouble here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Fernandez regains half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rythm Ray dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Fernandez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.

Ray scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Fernandez tries to improve position but can't.
Rythm Ray overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Ray has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Ray postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Fernandez looks a forlorn figure.

Fernandez bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Fernandez is pushing down on Ray's leg trying to pass to half guard. Ray is fighting to maintain full guard but Fernandez has managed to sneak the leg through.
Ray keeping hold of Fernandez's head, controlling as best he can.

Fernandez is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Ray has managed to free his arm - good work.
Ray is not content to let Fernandez control the position.
Fernandez stops Ray from getting back to his feet.
Ray is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Fernandez can do to turn this around?

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Ray wants to get back to full guard.
Ray slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Fernandez trying to control the position from guard on top but Ray is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Fernandez stands and throws Ray's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Fernandez trying to control the position but Ray is working away.
Ray tries to bench press Fernandez off him but Fernandez keeps the position.
Ray on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Ray tries to get out of the position.
Fernandez advances to full mount.
Ray is in all sorts of trouble here.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Ray tries to hold on but Fernandez pushes him away.
Fernandez throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Fernandez throws some wild stikes that Ray manages to avoid easily.
Fernandez trying to control but he's not successful this time.

Fernandez jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Ray manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Fernandez tries to advance to mount but Ray denies him.

Fernandez thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Ray is looking to reverse the position.

Fernandez is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Ray is trying to escape and Fernandez transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Ray is forced to tap! Nice work there by Fernandez! Very nice indeed!
